Cognitive mapping on the strength of an internally directed, collectively derived birth time.

8-14 February 2019

Over several years, in the course introspective and time-period studies, we've experimented with many times of birth. We continue to discover more, but have worked, in the main, with radical birth times ranging over a little more than an hour that encompasses the recorded time on the date of birth. Each of these times has been derived intrapsychically, in gestalt, and has proved resonant, productive, led to important insights and ideas in the studies then engaged. Indeed, the recorded time of birth gives us a chart that generates a cognitive dissonance in many respects, so it is not one used as more than a reference point from which to search for the more resonant syntony we seek in any analysis. Not persuaded by concepts of absolute beginnings or endings, we appreciate developments as presenting in an arc of time — even in no-time — rather than a point. Instead, time is read as a matter of perspective, a confluence of focal engagement among multiple participants. So what we're doing isn't rectification, so much as perceptual attunement, perspectival alignment for purpose of study.

In this exercise, we employ a birth time of 09:46:24 CST (15:46:27 UT; 00:54:31 SidT) to generate the following divisional and radical charts, first of which is a D-60 in Western style, with salient factors noted beside Eastern charts below. Ayanamsha is Dhruva/Galactic Center at mid-Mula, our current preference — Usha Sashi and True Revati are also effective, whilst others, except for specific applications, prove ego dystonic, lack syntony or resonance for gestalt purposes. We're working with Shastiamsa, Navamsa, and Rasi in this exercise, working from D-60 through D-9 to D-1 in a effort to assess a 'whole picture', as it were, coincident with several transits now in play (not shown in the charts below)

Lagna [Kaala] Scorpio Anuradha 1 sets Saturn [Seetala] in the 8th, Gemini Ardra 3, a position also read as 11th with (10th) Moon [Amrita] as lagna, Leo Purva Phalguni 1.

Mercury R [Krura] in the 12th, Libra Vishakha 2, is focus of opposition with Sun [Chandramukhi] Aries Bharani 3
in the 6th: ⇒ Surya in satkona — see notes for Behari commentary regarding.

The Six-Pointed Star (SHATKONA)
A typical combination often found in the graphical structure of a YANTRA is the superposition of two triangles, one pointing upwards and the other downwards, forming a star with six points (SHATKONA), also known as David's Star. This form symbolically represents the union of PURUSHA [The Supreme Being] and PRAKRITI [Mother Nature, causal matter] or SHIVA-SHAKTI, without which there could be no Creation. — SivaSakti | Yantras

And see Anahata (Heart Chakra).

Mercury R goes to Uranus [Kalinasa] Leo Uttara Phalguni 1, 10th, conjunct Jupiter [Kaala] Virgo Uttara Phalguni 2, as well as to Pluto [Bhrashta] Sagittarius Mula 1, with Venus [Kaala] and Neptune R [Garala] Mula 3.

"Budha-12", writes Barbara Pijan, "represents students, pupils, apprentices, disciples (Budha) mastering the Narratives of private prayer, contemplation, sleep and dreams, intuitive spiritual guidance, clairsentient awareness, meditation, Other Worlds."

Kite formation...

Saturn (whom we'll read as AK, in addition to Pluto, which is actually of highest degree], is head of a kite formation,
with wings at

  • Mars [Nirmala] in the 6th, Aries Ashwini 4, « empathy, eye for people's needs, collectivity » < ruled by Ketu >; and
  • Moon [Amrita] in the 10th, Leo Purva Phalguni 1, « illuminating » < ruled by Venus >;

focused in the 2nd at Venus [Kaala] and Neptune R [Garala] Mula 3, « communication ⇒ shaman, healer » < ruled by Ketu >.

Rahu square Mars square Ketu

Rahu [Ardra] in the 3rd, Capricorn Shravana 1 squares Mars [Nirmala] in the 6th, Aries Ashwini 4, which squares Ketu [Ardra] in the 9th, Cancer Pushya 3 — Bhava Lagna, conjunct Ketu, is Pushya 4. Sun [Chandramukhi] Bharani 3 and Mars are both in 6th, 4th from Rahu; Ketu is 4th from 6th, in the 9th. This is a favorable framework, a dynamic that engages Mercury [Krura: Budha, capable of both Krura and Shubha, is classed as Shubha] in response to disharmony and Budha-12 focus shifts beyond attachment, to higher awareness. The drive is Rahu square Mars [Nirmala: the drive to clean, to purify] square Ketu.

As Varaha Mihira writes of Ardra:

Shashtiāńśa 26#. Ardra: Wet, moist, very powerful like the Rudras of the Ardra Nakshatra. JT: Ardra. SC: Indra. Even if we consider this to belong to Indra, it represents power, opulence, influence and also arrogance. The Rudras, although known to be fierce, they are the protector of the Pranas. They protect things from getting destroyed or decayed. Hence they should be considered Shubha, although they are fierce in nature. Indra is the devata for Thunder and Rains and is one who has full control over the Indriyas (Sense Organs). Hence this Shastiamsa can indicate the ability to self-control. Nature: SHUBHA. According to both BS Rao and GK Ojha this is considered as Shubha. Mantresvara in Phaladeepika classified this as Shubha.

Note the ascendant lagnas in the three charts.

All three fit very well. And the other lagnas are also informative, quite meaningful and often resonant.

Reading Saturn as AK in D-1, we note its position in D-9 and set Karakamsa lagna in D-1 ⇒ Saturn goes to Libra, its exaltation, which gives us Ketu Hasta 3 < ruled by Moon → moksha > and Mars Uttara Phalguni 3 < ruled by Sun → moksha > in the 12th, in Virgo < ruled by Mercury, Budha >, same sign as Jupiter Uttara Phalguni 2 in D-60. Mercury R is planet of highest degree among traditional planets in D-60, and Uranus is highest of all — a meaningful combination.
